How Do I Keep My Gas?
Local Law 152 inspections began in 2020. The first 4-year cycle ended in 2023.
We’re now in year 2 of the current cycle, 2024–2027.
Local Law 152 requires NYC building owners to have gas piping systems inspected every 4 years
by a NYC Licensed Master Plumber Company.
Buildings without gas piping must also certify the absence of a system through a
NYC Licensed Master Plumber or Registered Design Professional.
This requirement is based on the type of building and the community district in which it is located.
